Affected families receive food packs

Under the supervision of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), a significant effort was undertaken to support families impacted by the recent oil spill incidents in Mariveles.

With resources provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), a total of 5,000 food packs were distributed to those in need within the affected communities. The distribution of these food packs targeted families in twelve (12) barangays across Mariveles, through the assistance of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

In addition, another batch of 5,000 food packs is earmarked for Limay, where similar assistance will be provided. The distribution to other affected towns will commence promptly once the province receives the food packs from the DSWD.

As per PSWDO data, a total of 10,174 families in Limay and 4,822 families in Mariveles are affected by the oil spill. On the other hand, a total of 100,000 food packs have been set aside for families affected by Typhoon Carina.
